Hemp clothing is becoming increasingly popular among fashion-conscious Americans. Unfortunately, unlike cotton or wool, hemp clothing doesn’t wrinkle quite as much. But just because it becomes softer and longer lasting over time doesn’t mean that it isn’t worth paying for. And, if you’re like me, who feels like anything made of hemp should be affordable, then you’re going to love the fact that there are hemp clothing stores in America where you can buy some really good stuff. Besides, hemp clothing is also great for those who aren’t environmentally conscious, because hemp fabric doesn’t use any cotton or polyester, which means that you’re still helping the environment out!
Now, I’m not saying that all hemp clothing stores are made up of fair-trade labor, so that you can enjoy paying a lower price for your garment, but I am saying that there are some disadvantages to buying hemp clothing. To begin with, although the fiber is very durable, it can wrinkle quite easily. Of course, the reason for this is that the fiber is quite soft. When it is produced in high volume, the resulting product may contain a few tiny wrinkles. However, considering that how well hemp clothing last and how much it can stretch without getting damaged, this shouldn’t be a major disadvantage.
The biggest disadvantage to buying hemp clothing is probably going to be the fact that you will have to pay a little bit more for it. In addition, because the manufacturing process involves using heat to lock in the natural properties of the hemp fibers, you’ll have to pay for that cost of good. However, I think you’ll find that when you shop around enough and are careful about where you buy your linen, you can find some really good prices. Organic hemp linen is also a really good choice, as it is often much better for the environment.
